Nursery Newsletter Autumn 2019

Nursery News

Firstly we would like to send our 'Congratulations to Claire' in our Ladybird room and announce that she is expecting a baby doy due to arrive in January 2020. We are all looking forward to meeting him!

Over the last term, as a staff team we have been trialling Tapestry. This is an online system used for storing and updating children's Learning Journeys and diaries. As parents/carers you will be able to log in and view your child's observations and send home observations to your child's key person for them to include in their Learning Journey. We have decided to go ahead with Tapestry long term as this offers many benefits to both parents and practitioners, including partnerships, accessibility and time saving. You will receive a letter and a parent guide about this shortly.

Dates for your diary.

Spare Clothes  Please include spare clothes in nursery bags for occasions when children get wet or messy, we are very low on nursery spares so please ensure iblereturn any clothes borrowed as quickly as possible.

Child Health  Dental Hygiene- Children are enjoying brushing their teeth at nursery as part of the local Toothbrushing Scheme and our daily routine. We use a song 'Brush Your Teeth' by Super Simple Songs which you can find on YouTube. This may help when encouraging children to also brushing their teeth at home.

Eye Tests - Looking after your child's sight is just as important as looking after their teeth. Children with blurred vision do not know that it isn't normal and this can make a simple task impossible, delaying them in their development. Eye tests and glasses are free for children so there is no need to delay - book today and keep up with regular check-ups.

Other Activities  We have some limited availability for our PE Sessions on a Friday morning. These are delivered by Bolton Council at a cost of £15 for a 6 week block. If you would be interested in this, please speak to a member of staff or email Andrea on adminmoorlands@ellanday-nurseries.co.uk

We are also asking for any interest from our Bumblebee room with the view to reinstating swimmin lessions. Last year the cost for this was £75 including transport for a 10 week block but this will vary depending on the level of interest. If you would like to express an interest for your child to participate please speak to a member of staff or email Andrea on the address above.
